The product category

These tools add publishing, analytics, research or workflow features around a social network. Their usefulness depends both on customer demand and on the platform’s available APIs, permissions and commercial terms.

BlackMagic: a historical example

The old page contained only the name BlackMagic. Its official website now announces a shutdown on July 1, 2026. It says active subscriptions will be cancelled automatically and provides a support contact for refund questions. It should be treated as a closed-product example, not a current recommendation.

What to evaluate

Before building, identify which operations require an API, what access costs, how users can export their work and what happens if access changes. Platform risk belongs in the business model from the beginning. A workflow that remains useful with several data sources may be more resilient than a single unsupported integration.
